グッド・オーディナリー・クラレットは、私たちベリーズ・オウン・セレクションに於けるボルドーのフラッグシップ赤ワインとなっています。 ボルドー最大手のネゴシアンの1つ、ドゥルテ社とのパートナーシップにより、ボルドーで極めて優良なテロワールから収穫されたブドウをブレンドして造られています。 1970年代の発売以来、このワインはボルドーワインのトップセラーとなり、私たちの確固たる自信作として人気を誇ります。 元会長のクリストファー・ベリー・グリーンは、"グッド・オーディナリー・クラレット "という名前の由来を尋ねられた時、 "それは間違い無くクラレットであり、美味しく、そしてスタンダードな味わいであった。"と答えています。 長い年月を経て、多くの方々からこのワインに親しみを込めて、 "GOC "と呼ばれる様になりました。 今回、325周年を飾るにあたり発売されたグッド・オーディナリー・クラレットの限定ラベルは、ロンドンを拠点に活動するアーティスト、ロブ・ライアンによってデザインされています。 彼のペーパーカットデザインは、1698年の創業以来私たちの本拠地であるセント・ジェームズ・ストリートNo.3のファサードからインスピレーションを得ています。 私たちのグッド・オーディナリー・クラレットは、ボルドーの赤ワインの中でも早くから楽しめるスタイルで、万能で確実に美味しいワインです。 2020ヴィンテージはメルロが主体で、カベルネ・ソーヴィニヨンとカベルネ・フランがそれを支えています。 ノーズは、熟した生垣の果実が杉や多くのスパイシーで温かみのあるアロマと綺麗に溶け合っています。 ブラックチェリー、ブラックベリー、マートル・ベリーの香りが溢れるほどに華立ち、ふくよかで深い味わいが口中を覆い包みます。 さらには、滑らかでベルベットの様なタンニンが骨格を支え、魅力ある複雑さをも感じさせてくれます。 日曜日のゆっくりとしたディナーやこれから本番を迎える冬にピッタリなワインです。
Good Ordinary Claret is our flagship red Bordeaux. Produced in partnership with Dourthe, it is a blend of fruit from some of Bordeaux’s finest terroirs. Since its inception in the 1970s, it has become the top seller in our range – and a firm favourite of ours. When asked to explain the name “Good Ordinary Claret”, our former Chairman Christopher Berry Green once said: “It was Claret, it was good, and it was ordinary.” Over the years, it has become known affectionately as “GOC”. This limited-edition label for our Good Ordinary Claret was designed for us by London-based artist Rob Ryan. His paper-cut design draws inspiration from the shopfront at No.3 St James’s Street, our home since 1698. Our Good Ordinary Claret is an early-drinking style of red Bordeaux – one that is versatile and reliably delicious. The 2020 vintage is predominantly Merlot, supported by Cabernet Sauvignon and a dash of Cabernet Franc. On the nose, ripe hedgerow fruits mingle alongside warming aromas of cedar and allspice. The palate is plump and moreish, laden with black cherries, blackberries and myrtle berries. Meanwhile, a backbone of smooth, velvety tannins brings structure and complexity. This is a great wine to please a crowd, perfect with a Sunday roast or a winter vegetable stew.
