来る5/15（火）、イングリッシュ・スパークリング・ワインの生産者Gusbourne/ ガズボーンからLaura Rhys MS/ ローラ・リースMS（マスターソムリエ）を迎え、"Early Summer Brit Fizz Evening/ アーリー･サマー･ブリット･フィズ・イヴニング"と題し、イングリッシュ･スパークリング・ワイン･パーティを開催致します。

新しいワイン産地として世界的な注目を集める、イギリス。シャンパーニュと瓜二つのテロワールから造られるそのワインのクオリティの向上には目を見張るというにとどまらず、ブラインドテイスティングでもシャンパーニュを凌駕するものとなっています。スパークリングワインが美味しく感じられてくる初夏の夕べに、現在のブリット・フィズを思いっきり楽しみませんか。

来日するローラ・リースMSは、ガズボーンのグローバル・アンバサダーで、世界でもこれまでに約250名のみが認められているマスターソムリエです。2004年にソムリエとしてのキャリアをスタートさせたリース氏は、名だたるホテルやレストランにて経験を積みながら、わずか5年後の2009年に英国のソムリエ･オブ･ザ･イヤーに選出（過去30年で3人しかいない女性受賞者の一人）、2010年にマスターソムリエのディプロマを取得した、ワインとホスピタリティのプロフェッショナルです。当日は、自国のワイン、イングリッシュ・スパークリングの魅力を喜んで話してくれることでしょう。

会場は、英国を代表する高級車メーカーAston Martin/ アストン･マーティンのブランド･センター、The House of Aston Martin Aoyamaです。アストン･マーティンは、熟練した職人が手作業で造り上げるスポーツカーで有名なメーカーで、「007シリーズ」のボンドカーとして目にしたことがある方も多いのではないでしょうか。チャールズ皇太子からロイヤル･ワラントを授与されている、英国王室御用達のブランドでもあります。今回、青山通りに面したラグジュアリーなショールームであり、アストン･マーティンとして世界初のグローバル・ブランド･センターにて、本イベントを開催させていただくこととなりました。

当日は、ガズボーン、ハンブルドンという英国の今を代表する二つの造り手のイングリッシュ・スパークリング8種類に加え、ボルドーやシェリーなどのイギリスとの由縁が深いワインを4種類、全12種類をフリーフローでご提供いたします。ブリティッシュテイスト溢れるフィンガーフードと共にお楽しみください。

English Sparkling Wine Gusbourne Maker's Dinner

As many will have seen already, England has been much in the lime light recently as a new source of top quality Sparkling Wine. The terroir and climate of southern England is very similar to that of the region of Champagne, which makes it possible to produce wines which in many cases have been judged as superior to some well-known Champagnes.

Please join us at this special Brit Fizz extravaganza, to enjoy some fine quality, chilled Sparkling Wine, which becomes so enjoyable at this time of year, with the rising temperature in Tokyo.

At the event, we will also be very pleased to welcome Ms Laura Rhys MS, the Prestige Brand Manager of Gusbourne, one of the leading producers of English wine. She started her career as a sommelier in 2004, gaining a rich experience at Michelin starred restaurants and hotels. Only 5 years later, in 2009, she won the UK Sommelier of the Year competition, the second of only three women in the last 30 years to take the title. In 2010, she passed the exam to become a Master Sommelier, one of only around 250 in the world. With this knowledge and expertise, Laura will guide us through the world of English Sparkling Wine.

As a very fitting location for the event, it will take place at the Global Brand Centre of Aston Martin, one of the most famous members of the British luxury car industry. Aston Martin is renowned throughout the world for its range of bespoke luxury cars, with all assembly work performed by hand, by craftsmen, and is, of course, famous as the maker of the "Bond Car". Like Berry Bros & Rudd, Aston Martin is also a holder of the Royal Warrant as a purveyor to the HRH The Prince of Wales.

There will be eight different Sparkling Wines to enjoy at the tasting, from two of the leading English wine estates, Gusbourne and Hambledon. Along with these, we will also have four wines from two other regions which have a close connection with the history of wine drinking in England, that is Bordeaux and Sherry.

To enjoy with the wines, which will all be on free-flow for the evening, there will also be a plentiful range of delicious, and naturally, British themed canapés and finger food
